First of all..... I never established an account with BillMeLater..... NOW.... I find they are billing me for services and products which I never ordered......BillMeLater is fraudulent.

This must be the most irresponsible business arrangement which I have encountered.  DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BILLMELATER....AND... CONSIDER CANCELLING YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT !   What a joke..... they hide behind confidentiality agreements to substantiate unauthorized billings and excessive charges.  How can an illegitimate charge for $5 in August result in a $26 illegitimate balance in November?  FRAUD..... IDENTITY THEFT.....GREED.....AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SIMILAR TO CHICKENS HOSTING TABLES IN AN ALLIGATOR PIT !

CANCEL YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT.....THEY HAVE PROVEN UNRELIABLE.

I just sent an email to the Attorney General in Florida regarding the practices of BillMeLater..... In my opinion, they are fraudulent..... I encourage each of you who have been mistreated and SCAMMED by BillMeLater to send a letter to your State- Attorney General.  This company, in my opinion, is fraudulent and PayPal has made a poor business decision to include them as a provider of services.  Let's stop BillMeLater NOW !

For the past 2 purchases that should have been paid by my bank account through PayPal, has been sent to BillMeLater, costing me interest charges has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah - I'd say that's a good representation of their business practices.  I have just run into the

same thing myself.  I just called and cancelled my account.  We'll see if it works.  I'll never do

business with them EVER AGAIN!!  Their statements are full of errors and the differences between

my online account and the statements they send in the mail are ridiculous.

Bill Me Later is an insidious scam.  It's turned out to be a very expensive lesson.

They should be reported to your state's attorney general - I intend to do that right away.

I have been scammed also a 19.00  and 8.98 turned into 66.80,  for no reason haven't even paid my first bill yet, due on Dec 02, they could not even wait for my first payment to start their scam.  I canceled my Pay Pal account after 6 yrs!

Same thing happened to me!  I tried to use my PayPal to pay for something and it ended up "redirecting" my charge to BIllMeLater, WITHOUT my permission!  I spent 20 minutes total arguing with both PayPal and BillMeLater - during which time both parties tried to tell me that I had "clicked" a button somewhere authorizing the deferral.  They proceeded to charge me interest and a $25 dollar late fee.  I had no idea I even had a balance with them!  I will be canceling both accounts.

I applied for and got BillMeLater and have not had any problems with it.  It allows me a little more freedom to feed my impulse buying urges and, so far at least, has worked just as advertised.  Questions that I've had have been immediately answered by Customer Support either by voice or email.

Here's a twist. I make an online purchase, pay through PayPal, double checking that the only option, as always, is to transfer straight from my correctly identified bank account, confirm the payment and wait for the email confirmation. It duly arrives, correctly identifying the transaction, the amount, the recipient, even the date! And then it says:

"You'll be billed with Bill Me Later®, a PayPal service through your PayPal account. We'll send you an email when your statement is ready. For more information, or to schedule a payment to Bill Me Later, just visit PayPal."

This is somewhat unexpected, especially as I eventually managed to close my BML account last summer (that's another story). So I call PayPal customer service. There isn't really a good option on the menu, but it's easy to make the right choice to speak to a live person. This representative recognises that something is amiss, but resolving it is, I suspect, above her payscale. She passes me to an "accounts specialist", who reassures me that the transaction is proceeding according to my wishes (deduction from bank account). To double check, however, she passes me to a representative at BML, who reasures me that no activity is showing on my closed account (and no new account has been opened, with or without my knowledge). He doesn't understand the email I received, so suggests I talk to a supervisor at PayPal, and transfers me back there. The supervisor agrees that everything is proceeding as normal, but that the email is clearly flawed. She asks me to forward her the message, which I do, so that she can do something about it. We have progress ... I think!

Does BML worK? Maybe, sometimes. Is it a scam? I don't know, but if it's not, then the long littany of complaints against BML suggests rampant incompetence in the organisation. It's not the case that we've all clicked the wrong buttons. Somewhere in the system there exists the means to send out a substantially flawed email. That may be a minor issue by itself, but it is symptomatic of a system that is flawed. Who knows what else it can do that's unintended? Maybe create accounts for people who don't request them? Maybe sidetrack payments into the BML system rather than the requested payment method?

If PayPal cannot get a handle on what BML is doing and keep it under control, it would be better, certainly for PayPal's increasingly tarnished image, to opt for an amicable divorce.
