Contactless is a function on certain debit, credit and prepaid cards that allows customers to make a quick and easy payment for items under £30 without entering a PIN.  They simply place their contactless card over the card reader to make the payment. A lot of high street shops now take this type of payment, such as Starbucks, Boots or Caffe Nero to name a few.

Contactless speeds up the time to make payment. It also means that customers don't have to carry cash with them. Contactless payments are expected to take off in 2016 when analysts estimate that the number of contactless transactions will hit $74 billion worldwide.

Now with the new PayPal Here contactless card reader you too can accept contactless payments from your customers. Check out the how to use PayPal Here video ‘Accepting Contactless (NFC payments) here to see it in action.
