I'm sorry to hear you're running into some issues changing that dispute into a claim. Sometimes the trick is to clear your browser's cache, cookies, and history. If that doesn't work, definitely give our Customer Support a call so they can help you make that dispute into a claim.

Thanks for the information I did not know I had no protection if I paid for a bespoke item by paypal or even about the pay after delivery arrangement I, like alot of other people, assumed that pay after delivery refers to the payment to the supplier and not my payment to paypal. Paypal is always my preferred payment as it is so easy but from now on I will have to use my credit card on long delivery and bespoke items for the protection but thanks again information is power as they say. The escalation was done as the buyer which was me and I didn't do that, indeed I did not have access to a computer on the day it was done so who could go into my Paypal account and put that the buyer had escalated the claim, I have now closed it, but am very worried that someone managed to do this. I did have a problem with the supplier but my problem was that they were threatening to deduct money from my paypal account if I didnt improve the feedback which I had put on Etsy. Now while I don't think they wouldn't be able to do this without my agreement and I would have checked with Paypal that this wasn't possible I had already received a full refund for the amount involved I still don't understand how this was escalated in my name?

I posted a question regarding my worry that several payments had gone straight through without me being asked to approve the final amount and address your reply was that I have one touch, I haven't! As it hasn't happened since Im keeping my fingers crossed that whatever glitch it was has gone but am still worried.

I'm sorry to hear what has happened with a case showing in your Resolution Centre.
If you are unable to see the case through your Resolution Centre on PayPal, it sounds to me as though the case could have been opened on eBay. Can you try checking your Resolution Centre on eBay to see if there are any open cases showing there?
